UPL KhedutPragati – Observed KISAN DIWAS at “UPL Centre for Agriculture Excellence”, Nahuli on 23rd December 2017

National Farmer Day, Known as “Kisan Diwas” in India is celebrated in the honor of Chaudhary Charan Singh the 5th  Prime Minister of India.  Who propelled the slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” led by our second Prime Minister. We celebrate Kisan Diwas every year to pay homage to such a great leader and to honor the great work done by the farmers of our country.

For UPL Farmer is first in all initiative and hence we decided to celebrate the farmers day (KISAN DIWAS) to extend our thanks to farmers for giving us food.

How UPL Pragati team Celebrated KISAN DIWAS

We invited 85 farmers from four location namely Ankleshwar Ahwa Kaprada and Vapi, to Vikram Farm, Nahuli. We organized training cum thanks programme for them.

In first session we welcome farmers and briefed them about Vikram Farm and all crop specific information. Session included best management and modern practices of agriculture. Effective management of water, labour and Agri. inputs.  Then Dr. Jignesh Patel has discussed about Horticulture plantation & it’s importance in farming. Also he has given information about government schemes and support for farmers.

In second session, Mr. Tripathi and Mr. Pankaj from Vikram farm conducted field visit for our guest farmers. This was more practical understanding and exposure for innovative practices in agriculture. It was full of practical knowledge/experience sharing for farmers. Each and every query or questions of the farmers was answered on field itself.

In third session Mrs. Sandra Shroff has addressed farmers on different aspects of farming and offer a big thanks to them for feeding whole world. She also interacted with individual farmer to know more about their farming methods and their learning at Vikram Farm.  Finally she honoured some progressive farmers for their best achievement/practices in agriculture production.

In the concluding session some progressive farmers have shared their experience with other farmers which they implemented in their own farm. Some of them stated Paddy cultivation through SRI method, some told about Sugar Cane cultivation, some spoke about drip irrigation and its benefit. The mutual exchange of knowledge and experience to each other was a wonderful exercise.

Finally we concluded the whole programme by extending our thanks to farmers for all the hard work they put in to feed INDIA.
